In May 2024, three of us from Epic Expeditions headed down to South America with duffel bags full of gear and one goal in mind: to develop a brand new trip that was unique, badass, and an all around good time.
We put our finger on the map and settled on the legendary Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. Over the next several weeks, we explored the busy markets of El Alto and La Paz, got our futures read by a shamanic witch, trekked over multiple mountain passes, and tagged the tops of a few Andean summits.
As you might imagine, so much goes into the development of a new Epic trip. We use this time to decide what works, what needs to be improved, and what is just straight up a bad idea. The magic is in the details and by physically going down to the new destination, we can design the trip exactly how we want the experience to be for our Epic community.
Along the way, we ran across some of the most beautiful places in Bolivia for damn sure. One never knows what to expect when traveling to a new country – but it is safe to say that Bolivia blew our expectations out of the water.
Travel for us is all about finding new challenges in stunning locations, personal growth, eating as much good food as possible, and connecting deeply with the local people. Our purpose from day one when crafting these trips has been pretty straightforward: show people a side of the country they would otherwise never get to see and have a lot of laughs along the way.
Our new Bolivia Expedition ticks those boxes and then some. We hope you consider joining us in 2025!
Getting to the top of the mountain is the goal, the journey is the process.
